Hunt directed Unexpected (2023), a feature he also produced with Patricia Heaton. The film stars Joseph Mazzello, Anna Camp, Neil Flynn, and Ryann Shane — a story of infertility, adoption, and the pressure of ordinary life, built with precise performances and a filmmaker's discipline. Before directing, he was the producing backbone behind every FourBoys credit, including the co-production of Amazing Grace (2006) alongside Terrence Malick and Edward R. Pressman.

Hunt's acting credits span Hollywood genre cinema and prestige television. He appeared in The Dead Pool (1988) — the fifth Dirty Harry film, starring Clint Eastwood — and went on to recurring and guest roles on 24, Homeland, and Mad Men. Trained at The Juilliard School in New York, he brings a performer's instinct to his work behind the camera.

In 2001, Hunt and Heaton founded FourBoys Entertainment, named after their four sons.
